Up North Prevention was proud to participate in this year's National Night Out, joining families, first responders, and community organizations for an evening focused on building stronger, safer, and healthier communities.
National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens relationships between residents and local law enforcement while fostering neighborhood connections in a fun, welcoming environment. This year's event brought together state, county, and city law enforcement agencies, local fire departments, EMS personnel, Prevention, and numerous community organizations.
Families had the opportunity to meet police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel, explore emergency vehicles, and learn more about the important services they provide. Children especially enjoyed interacting with first responders in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
Up North Prevention shared resources on substance misuse prevention, healthy decision-making, and building resilient communities. Connie, Prevention Specialist for Presque Isle County, connected with youth and families by providing educational materials, answering questions, and highlighting local prevention programs and services.
The evening also featured free hot dogs, refreshments, and ice cream, giving families a chance to enjoy time together while getting to know the professionals who serve their communities.
Events like National Night Out demonstrate the power of collaboration. When families, first responders, and community organizations come together, they strengthen the relationships that support prevention, public safety, and community well-being.
Up North Prevention extends its sincere appreciation to the participating law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS personnel, volunteers, community organizations, and everyone who attended. We look forward to continuing these partnerships through future prevention initiatives, educational events, and outreach opportunities that encourage healthy choices and strengthen families across Northeast Michigan.
