The Atlanta Students Leading Students (SLS) chapter took the lead in organizing a simulated accident scene presented during an assembly for all 9th through 12th-grade students. The event was strategically scheduled for the day before Atlanta's prom in hopes of capturing students’ attention and raising awareness about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. Additionally, the SLS chapter aims for the message to resonate throughout the graduation season.
Several agencies participated in the simulation to ensure accuracy and realism, including the Tri-Township Fire Department, Tri-Township Ambulance, and the Montmorency County Sheriff's Department.
The simulation depicted a two-vehicle crash involving three injured students, one deceased student, and the roadside sobriety test and arrest of another student.
