Save a Life Day Brings Prevention and Safety Resources to Crawford County

Up North Prevention celebrated Recovery Month by hosting Save a Life Day at Grayling City Park during the Grayling Market. The event had a great turnout and provided community members with valuable education, resources, and tools to help keep themselves and their families safe.

Christian Wargo, FF/EMT-B, CADS, with Frederic Township Fire Department and EMS provided adult, child, and infant CPR demonstrations, along with information on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The demonstrations were especially helpful for parents and caregivers interested in learning lifesaving skills.

Deputy Vogel with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was also available to collect unused medications for safe disposal, while Up North Prevention provided naloxone demonstrations and distributed free naloxone to community members.

Attendees also received medication lock boxes and bags, THC lock bags, gun locks, prevention resources, and educational materials. Save a Life Day was a successful opportunity to connect Crawford County residents with practical tools, education, and resources that can help protect individuals, families, and the broader community.
