SafeTALK presentation in Gand Traverse County at Traverse Area District Library

A safeTalk presentation was given September 15^th at the TADL Library in Grand Traverse County by Kiersten's Ride. How to connect persons with suicide ideology to life-affirming help was the topic of the talk. Mostly, noticing and responding to situations where suicide thoughts may be present and recognize the invitations that are often overlooked. Also, moving beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide conversations. We learned to apply the TALK steps: Ask, Listen, and Keep Safe when needed. Community resources were shared and how to connect someone with suicide thoughts to help.
