Otsego FAN Celebrates Recovery Month

On September 26th, the Otsego County Face Addiction Now (FAN) Chapter hosted a celebration for National Recovery Month at their ‘home’ base—Gaylord Methodist Church. FAN meets here every 4th Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., creating a supportive space for families and individuals affected by addiction.

Artists in Recovery (AIR) Fair

The event featured the Artists in Recovery (AIR) Fair, which showcased creative works from individuals on their recovery journey. About 85 people came to check out the art, and it was clear that each piece held deep meaning for both the artist and those who admired it. From hand make jewelry to holiday crafts and notecards, it was a beautiful reminder of how creativity can play a huge role in healing.

Chili Cook-off Fun

And what’s a celebration without some good food? The night also featured a chili cook-off, where 11 talented cooks brought their best recipes to the table—literally! With local judges doing the hard job of tasting each batch, the competition was tough. But three lucky winners walked away with well-deserved prizes of gift cards to local businesses.

The event was not just about great art or tasty chili, it was about celebrating recovery and the community that comes together to support it.
