The semi-annual Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 27th, 2024, 10am-2pm. The DEA partners with local law enforcement agencies, substance-free coalitions, and other organizations to encourage everyone to properly dispose of all unused and unneeded medications to make our communities safer and healthier. Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. By disposing of old medications in your home, you can do your part to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
Last year more than 300 tons of medications were taken out of circulation and disposed of through the DEA take back initiative.
