Celebrating Recovery and Strengthening Community: Live Well Kalkaska at NMRE’s Day of Education

The Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition was honored to attend the Northern Michigan Regional Entity (NMRE) "Day of Education" at the Treetops Resort Convention Center in Gaylord—a day dedicated to raising awareness and educating attendees about behavioral health and substance use. Our participation reflected a core part of our vision: to be a recognized prevention leader through continued community education that increases recovery rates, decreases youth substance use, and promotes resilient families.

We proudly stand beside individuals and families in our community impacted by substance use and offer our full support to those in recovery. Our mission includes educating others to reduce stigma and sharing the message that recovery is not only possible—it’s something to be celebrated.

Throughout the day, we were thrilled to connect with several individuals from Kalkaska County who expressed appreciation for our presence. Many shared that it was meaningful to see representation from their home community and showed interest in joining our mission to support prevention and recovery efforts locally.

A key part of our outreach at the event was promoting The Talents of Recovery UP North, our annual community celebration that highlights the creativity, strength, and resilience of those in recovery. This event reflects our belief that recovery is about more than abstaining from substances—it's about rediscovering purpose, building community, and realizing personal potential.
