Alcona Students Leading Students Promote Safe Prom Season

Three members of the Alcona Chapter of Students Leading Students (SLS) visited restaurants in Alcona County with the mission to raise awareness of the dangers of parents participating in social hosting.  The youth were asking businesses to add stickers to their pizza boxes and takeout orders that remind parents not to provide substances like nicotine, alcohol, and cannabis to underage youth- especially during prom and graduation seasons.  The youth had excellent interactions with business owners, managers and clerks, and travelled to ten communities in the county.
