The Students Leading Students (SLS) chapter in Alcona has received funding from Alcona County through the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency to purchase an exciting new interactive educational tool.

The chapter recently purchased a driving simulator designed to educate youth about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. The simulator incorporates impairment goggles and car-racing software to provide participants with a hands-on experience that demonstrates how impairment and distractions can affect driving ability and reaction time.

The simulator has been assembled and was introduced during the school's end-of-year student celebration, where students had the opportunity to experience the activity firsthand. SLS members plan to continue using the simulator at home sporting events and community gatherings throughout the year to raise awareness and promote safe driving habits among youth and community members.

Through interactive learning opportunities like this, SLS continues to engage students in meaningful conversations about making healthy, responsible choices and keeping themselves and others safe on the road.
