Up North Prevention had a great time talking to Alpena Community College students about the amount of alcohol contained in a 1.5 oz shot of spirits, 5 oz glass of wine or 12 oz glass of beer. The students were intrigued to learn that is all the same amount.

For the past 9 years the Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition has held its Serenity Vigil the first Monday in December, at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. The vigil is a special time to bring the community and families living with substance use disorders (SUD) together to remember those in the community they have lost to overdose, those still struggling, and celebrate those in recovery.
