The members of the Grand Traverse County Drug-Free Coalition’s STAND Club at Kingsley High planned a school-wide assembly the day before the holiday break. Students Together Against Negative Decisions, or STAND, Clubs are student-led prevention clubs in the county’s high schools. Officer Jennilyn Oster, a School Resource Officer with the Traverse City Police Department, spoke to the students about making safe and healthy choices during their holiday break.

The Grand Traverse County Drug Free Coalition collaborated with the Michigan State Police to hold a Stuff a Blue Goose event. With the help from some of our Students Together against Negative Decisions (STAND) Club students, we filled the back of two police cars with the toys and basic needs items that we collected. The Iosco Substance Free Coalition loves support safe, fun and substance free activities for young people. Their proud sponsorship of the Tawas Project Graduation 2022 is one for the books. The Coalition hosted a photo booth for teams of seniors, who competed all night long for thousands of dollars of gifts donated by its community.

The Grand Traverse County Drug-Free Coalition sells 18”x24” colorable posters. These posters come in four unique designs, two Traverse City and two Leelanau posters. The designs include businesses, landmarks, and scenery specific to these areas. The local artist, Susan Alexander, spent hours in the natural areas, businesses, and landmarks of Traverse City and Leelanau County to capture the beautiful details.
